It's about damn time!! Though I'm not a fan of the Miss Loreal #46 Black Panther hair color they applied so that he could play Severus Snape, I have to say that there's a certain rumpled sex appeal to a man who speaks slowly and deliberately...and with a British accent. Not in a foppish way, but in the bewildered manner of the late bloomer who finds himself the object of desire and isn't quite sure what to do with it.
Never mind, Mr. Rickman. We know exactly what to do. Just lie back, relax and think of England. We'll take care of the rest.
Visually he doesn't do much for me ... but oh, that voice!
A friend of mine said Alan to read me a bedtime story...and Johnny to snuggle with in bed would be perfect. Sorry Mrs. G! Thanks for this post, it really made me smile :-)
He is unique in a "Truly, Deeply, Madly" sort of way! If you've never seen the movie and "think" you might find him enjoyable...rent it immediately! He is the kind of guy you don't look at right away, but after some time you see the many layers and want to discover every one! And he is a wacky as the day is long which(for me) is also enjoyable! I think he keeps getting better Oh dear, see? Now you are in trouble too!
My young heart went pitter patter for Mr. Rickman at the tender age of twelve when he played The Sherrif of Nottingham. I recall the confused look on the faces of the summer camp counselors that year when I confessed my crush - afterall, college students had no idea who any man over the age of 25 was.
My ardor for Alan has paled over the years in light of more age appropriate objects of affection, but he will forever be my first celebrity love. (I choose to block out my 5-year-old indiscretion at proclaiming I was going to marry either Michael Jackson or Luke Skywalker.)
Ahh, Mrs. G. Think I'll just have to be a life addict for your blog now! Mr. Rickman, yumm the thinking girls sex object, er, symbol, LOL! Great eyes and a voice that melts, well everything really. He's been at the top of my list since Truly, madly deeply and still resides there, along with Mr Depp. Can't have them getting too lonely can we!
Ahh....Mr. Rickman i's so much more than Severus! In which he is very good. But as the Uber Bad Guy Franz in Die Hard, and the Sheriff in Robin Hood....verra verra seksa, too!
Oh, we love us some Alan Rickman ...
Love, love, love Alan Rickman. Saw him do Richard III in London. Then he lived here in Sonoma for weeks while filming "Bottle Shock". All the waitresses and bartenders in town voted him the nicest, most modest celebrity EVER.
He totally had me at Truly Madly Deeply. One of my top 10 movies evah. I'm going to have to Netflix that one... haven't seen it in a few.
Oh. My. Love. Love. Love. My hubs laughs when I say how much I love him. Little does he know...
Ohhhh, yes. Fell for him in Truly, Madly, Deeply and he hasn't been far from my thoughts since then. I'd be glad to serve detention for him any time.
Wasn't he a great asshole in Quigley Down Under?
Now, I must go and dream about Tom.
Yes, I too love him, especially in Truly, Madly, Deeply. Tried to rent it from Netflix, but it is in the "save" category. What's up with that?
I tried submitting Alan to the cabana, and while it was not my suggestion that brought him here, I'm truly, madly, deeply happy and excited to see him here! I love him! Colonel Brandon, aaahhhhh...
At 63 years old, he is beyond what I would normally consider an age to be admitted to my own personal cabana (Johnny is a mere 3 months older than I am). But Colonel Brandon was very persuasive (lucky Marianne). He can be part of my cabana any time.....
Wow, Snape's good-twin is hot!!!
SWOON FINALLY!
My husband enjoys making fun of me for the AR love... but mmmm the voice.
Should I be ashamed...he's my mother's age. ... NAH
Have loved Alan Rickman since Die Hard. I am not far behind him in age and it amazes me how many "young ones" simply adore this man. He is without a doubt one of the sexiest men ever put on this earth with eyes that radiate straight into the soul and a voice that could melt ice in seconds!
Loved him since the Sheriff of Nottingham. "You. My room 8:00 pm. You. My room 8:45. Bring a friend." Such a cad. Then in Sense and Sensibility. Sad, sexy, serious.
I just discovered your blog tonight, have been thoroughly enjoying the Cabana section. And then this. Wow! I think I'm in love (with Alan Rickman). You have a new fan for life.
lurve me some manly hot brits!
